We are looking forward to tough 40 minutes in Miskolc
After the season-opener on Friday the next game is already coming, which is not going to be an easy ride.
It is always a challenge playing in the home court of ALUINVENT-DVTK. It will not be different from 6.30 p.m. on Monday either. The match had to be rescheduled due to the occupance of Generali Aréna, which will attract a lot of enthusiastic red-white fans for sure. Their cheering can always be measured in points, but being familiar with the skills of our team we can hope that we can balance home-court advantage at such an early stage of the season.
Our pre-season went well, the league game against BEAC showed that our team is in a good form. The amount of rebounds collected by the opponent showed that we will need the strength of Crystal Langhorne at the rim. Although our American player will only arrive in Sopron on Wednesday, so for now we have to do our job without her on Monday. Surely, Yvonne Turner, who was chosen as the MVP of last season will have a bigger role now, given that she only had a taste of the game and the teammates on Friday.
Our next opponent started the season off with an easy win as well. Although not many conclusions can be drawn from their 89-54 away win against Vasas, but it can be seen that they can build on their starting five. Our former player returning from America, Fanni Szabó had the most points in that game scoring 21. Besides her the four foreign players, Melnika Engelmann, Burkholder and Peckova were the pillars of the Miskolc team, but national team member Dorina Zele had a good game, too. Stefan Svitek had every right to be satisfied with the performance of his team.
We asked Virág Weninger about her expectations before the game, which can be followed in onlinse stats at kosarsport.hu.
