Szekszárd managed to get an early lead in the game against us and they built on that start to beat us in a very important game that might be quite valuable at the end of the regular season.

As expected, our team wasn't alone on the road in Szekszárd, because a lot of supporters came along and filled the designated area for them.
After taking on this journey they were quite disappointed to see their team fall behind quickly in the first period, since the hosts took matters into their own hands and built up a double-digit lead early. Then came Aleks on court and with her presence we managed to reduce the gap to just four points after a triple at the buzzer signalling the end of the quarter (10th minute 19-15).
In the second period we tried our best to turn the game our way, but whatever we came up with, Szekszárd had an answer to it. Once we came back to being down by a single point at 31-30, but we couldn't score on multiple occasions after some good performances on defense, but the scoring drought was broken by the hosts, and that meant that we were going on half-time break in possession of a three-point deficit (20th minute 33-30).
Unfortunately, the second half brought no positive change in the course of action. Szekszárd were more accurate, and instead of coming closer to them, we fell even further behind scoring only ten points in the quarter (30th minute 50-40).
We faced the last period with a double-digit deficit, and that proved to have been too big a difference to come back from. The last quarter was all about us trying everything in our power to turn the game our way, but this just wasn't our game to win. At the 35-minute mark we had the last chance to gain momentum and turn the game our way, when Yvonne scored five consecutive points reducing our opponent's advantage to seven, but Szekszárd answered back with a three right away and made all our chances left in the game go away. At the end we fell short by thirteen points away from home and couldn't break our host's unbeaten record (40th minute 66-53).
Roberto Iniguez: Szekszárd was better both in defense and offense. I would like to congratulate them!
