We started the game slowly on defense, and Cegléd took andvantage of that but when we got into rhythm we managed to overcome our problems and beat Cegléd.

Cegléd won the right for the first possession and took the early lead with a triple by Swanier. Then came Amanda Zahui who got her season going with five points to take over (2nd minute 5-3). Both teams started the game rushing it a little bit, and Cegléd was able to maintain a single-digit lead, which made Roberto Iniguez call his first time-out of the new season (5th minute 7-8). After the short break Dalma converted an and-one, and when Cegléd managed to tie the game up again, Zsófi came up with a triple. The teams were advancing head-to-head, neither side was able to pull away from the other, but Cegléd were a single step ahead (10th minute 22-23).
We started off the second period with a 6-0 run which made coach Jankovic call his first time-out of the game (12th minute 28-23). In the next few minutes Cegléd were trying to come closer to us, but we were able to hold them off and maintain a comfortable single-digit lead while giving valuable minutes to all of our players (18th minute 38-30). The remainder of the first half brought the battle of equal sides, even though Aleks hit a buzzer-beater from downtown to close down the first half (20th minute 46-37).
The third quarter began with a 9-0 run for us forcing a time-out on the visitors' side (23rd minute 55-37). After three minutes Cegléd scored their first basket of the half, to which Betti answered back right away with a double to restore the difference above twenty points. We kept pushing forward, and made some adjustments on defense which gave us a 30+-point lead just before the end of the third period (30th minute 78-45).
In the closing quarter Cegléd began with a 4-0 period before Dalma was able to score. Both teams had a hard time cracking the oppositions's defense in these minutes, that resulted in a low-scoring start in the quarter (34th minute 84-49). Yvonne's basket meant that every single player on our roster has scored at least once in the game today, and after that Aleks made a huge fade-away jumper from three to give us a lead above 40(!) points (38th minute 94-53). In the last few minutes we put another basket on the board and closed the game with a well-deserved win (40th minute 96-53).
Roberto Iniguez: – It was a typical first game of the season. Cegléd started better, they have played a very good first fifteen minutes. About us, we have started playing after the first quarter, and then loosened up in the last one again. We won the game but I have reasons to worry.
Peter Jankovic: – Congratulations to Sopron, because they played very well. We have competed against a strong team. We were able to keep up with them for fifteen minutes, but after that they showed what they really are capable of, and closed the game.
Cintia Kobolák: Congratulations to Sopron. We have been able to play the way Peter expected us to do in the first half. Unfortunately, in the second problems surfaced on defense and on offense as well that had already occured during the pre-season. Now we will try to fix these and make the performance of the first fifteen minutes last as long as possible to become successful in the remainder of the regular season.
Zsófia Fegyverneky: Our defense in the first half wasn't on the level we wanted it to be, but as the game progressed it got better and better, but we can see clearly that we are not even close to what we want to accomplish in terms of team building. This is why we are happy about the win, that was the most important goal for today, but we still have a lot of work to do.
