Betti got the game going with a double off an assist by Aleks, and then our Serbian talent scored for two. Alíz also managed to put two on the board before PINKK got their first basket by Szűcs (2nd minute 2-6). We got off to a great start, three minutes into the game our advantage was already in double digits, which forced the home side to call their first time-out (4th minute 2-15). Landry made two free throws after the break, to which Betti answered back with two quick lay-ups, the second of which was an and-one (6th minute 4-20). We kept attacking, and holding back the hosts on defense, which resulted in us getting a twenty-point lead before the end of the quarter, and with a buzzer-beater double by Zsófi it grew even bigger (10th minute 8-30).
Tenyér opened the second with a triple, and then Debi hit one from mid-range. For a while, PINKK were able to get slightly closer to us, but then we caught rhythm again, and got back on track (14th minute 14-36). Landry did everything in her power to try to keep up with us, but her efforts alone didn’t seem to be enough. She came up with a three-point play, but then Briann buried a double to restore the difference, and then our American guard made two free throws as well (17-42). Then PINKK came up with a 9-4 run to cut into their deficit forcing Dávid Gáspár to call his first time-out in the game (17th minute 26-46). Virág hit a double after the short pause, and then Betti converted two foul shots, before Landry made a jumper from mid-range. After that Zsófi split a pair of free throws which then forced the home side to call their next time-out, and Betti closed the half with a double (20th minute 28-53).
Betti and Landry exchanged buckets to start the second half, and then Jáhni hit a double, to which Debi answered back from behind the arc (22nd minute 32-58). Debi was on fire at that point, she drained two consecutive triples to keep our momentum going, which increased our lead over thirty (32-64). A shot by Aleks was also able to find its way into the basket, and when Alíz scored again, the home side called their team to the bench to talk things over in a time-out (26th minute 32-68). The hosts pulled themselves together after the break and came up with a 9-1 scoring run to decrease the difference between the sides (41-69). At the end Stach and Debi exchanged triples to close the penultimate period of the matchup (30th minute 46-74).
Vári and Tenyér scored for two to get the final stage of the game going, but then we came up with a 9-0 run to turn the momentum our way again (33rd minute 50-83). In the next three minutes neither side was able to score, both teams played with many mistakes, but then Alíz broke the silence with a double. However, our performance wasn’t good enough for head coach Dávid Gáspár, because he called a time-out to talk things over (27th minute 49-85). Virág made two free throws after the break and Kami also scored her first points in the game, followed by that of Sára Varga meaning that everyone on our roster has scored at least once. For the final minutes the only question remaining to be answered was the final difference, which was set at forty-two points (40th minute 54-96).
Dávid Gáspár: I am very happy about the win, and like Alíz said I am proud and I am happy for the youngsters to have stepped up so well and we were able to get the victory playing agressively and controlling the game all the way through. There was a period of the game in the second and third quarter when we got a little soft on defense. That's why I can't be fully satisfied, but looking at the game as a whole the players have performed well. I am glad that we were able to give some valuable playing time to those who are working hard in practice but didn't get a lot of chance in games so far. They took complete advantage of today's game and took their chance.
Alíz Varga: I am very happy about the victory, and I am glad that we were able to execute what coach asked us to do. I am especially happy because us young players were able to show what we are capable of.
