We are continuing our campaign on home soil with a local derby. We are hosting UNI Győr Mély-ÚTfrom 6 pm on Sunday in Novomatic Aréna.
We had quite a hard time in Győr back in the fall, but thanks to an outstanding defensive effort after the break we managed to turn a 9-point deficit into a 6-point victory. We must not have thought back then that our rivals who are working with a wide roster will have to fight for a spot in the top eight in the middle of January. Thye have made changes to both their coaching staff and their roster during Christmas break. Milos Pavlovic's spot was taken over by Merim Mehmedovic, and they signed experienced post player Rachel Hollivay. They put her on the team a bit too early, which cost them their win against ZTE, and they even lost the one point awarded for showing up to the game. They have played two games since then, but they had no chance for victory away from home against PEAC or DTVK. What's more, they couldn't even make the games tight. Despite all that we have to be careful with them, because anything can happen in a signel game, and they can play basketball without pressure on Sunday.
Our team has been building game-by-game, and proceeding forward. On Thursday against Girona almost everything worked out perfectly for 33 minutes. Although we have messed up the ending a bit, we have reached our goal and the performance shown on both ends of the court was more than a good reason for hope!
Let's see what physical trainer Róbert Szegedi is anticipating in the game on Sunday!
Tickets can be purchased at the venue for 1200 HUF. Entry to the game is free of charge below the age of 14 and above 70!
