Udodenko and Candice exchanged buckets to get the game going, and then Dalma got us on the front foot with a double. Candice kept our scoring run going, and when Briann made a mid-rane jumper it grew all the way up to 8-2. A bit later when Candice made another lay-up we were already in a double-digit lead, which forced Róbert Meszlényi to call his first time-out in the game (5th minute 13-2). Wentzel made a lay-up when the teams came back on court, to which Tina answered back from just inside the three-point line. In the next coupke of minutes the guests came up with a 9-4 run to cut into their deficit, to which Briann put an end from mid-range setting the score for the first period (10th minute 19-11).
After two minutes of silence, Kaposi began scoring in the second quarter by splitting a pair of free throws, to which Candice answered back with a jumper from close in (21-12). The difference didn’t change much in the following minutes, however, PEAC managed to come a bit closer to us by making free throws, and when Bravard converted a double, Dávid Gáspár called his first time-out in the game (15th minute 23-17). Wentzel went in for a lay-up after the short break, to which Briann answered back with a double of her own. Then Jeca scored twice in quick succession, forcing PEAC to call their team to the bench to talk things over (29-19). Candice made a difficult jumper coming back on court, while Bravard hit a three at the other end. Betti beat her defender for a lay-up, and then Szabó made two foul shots for PEAC – time-out Sopron. The first half ended with a lay-up by Candice giving us a double-digit lead (20th minute 35-24).
Betti opened the second half with a double, and then Zsófi hit another one from mid-range. Followed by a one-of-two attempt from the line by Debi PEAc called their next time-out (23rd minute 40-24). Betti made one of two from the foul line after the break, to which Bravard answered back from behind the arc. Then Debi made a triple at the other end, while Udodenko hit a jumper for two. Candice converted two free throws into points, which got her to a total of 18, still being the only player scoing in double digits in the game (27th minute 49-31). Jeca made one of two at the line, to which Hegedűs replied with a corner three. We were already getting close to a twenty-point advantage, when PEAC hit the target twice forcing our next time-out in the game (52-37). Debi and Ruják exchanged buckets to set the score for the period (30th minute 54-40).
Udodenko made a triple to begin the final stage of the game, and then Zsófi made two foul shots. In this period we managed to hold on to our advantage and fought off every comeback effort by PEAC (36th minute 63-46). The last ten minutes were ours by a slightly bigger margin again, which meant that we took revenge for the reverse fixture earlier in the season (40th minute 72-55).
Dávid Gáspár: I am happy about the win, congratulations to my team and PEAc, too, we played a good game! I felt that we lost rhythm on offense multiple times, and missed many chances. PEAC's defense and the percentage of our outside shots played a part in that. However, we have controlled the game all the way through. We'll keep going on our path. Thanks to the fans for supporting us tonight, we always need it!
Candice Dupree: The team fought hard until the end, for forty minutes. It was a good game!
Róbert Meszlényi: I am satisfied with the game, we have done everything we had planned to do! I only have some concerns about our missed lay-ups. The result could have been tighter, but that's not what matters, but the fact that we have done everything we had planned, and played very well on our level!
Nóra Wentzel: We missed a lot of close shots and lay-ups at the beginning. If we made these, there could have been a tiger first half. We allowed Sopron some easy baskets in the third quarter, we weren't agressive enough. That's how this outcome took shape.
