Decision has been made: We will not travelling!

Representing the town of Sopron mayor Dr. Ciprián Farkas and from our club managing director Zoltán Török have announced at a press conference this morning,that our team is not going to travel to Ljubljana either for the game which we were ordered to play by the International Basketball Association.

A decision has been made together with the Hungarian Basketball Federation, that we can not accept the decision of FIBA which was that the game should have been played in Ljubljana!" - said our managing director - "We are protecting ourselves, our community, our town and the population of Hungary! We take responsibility for our decision even if it affects our club negatively!"

"In recent days we were in constant contact with Zoltán Török. A responsible decision has been made! We support Sopron Basket through everything, because we have to avoid possible risks." - stated dr. Ciprián Farkas, the mayor of Sopron.

Our managing director has presented the thoughts of president Ferenc Szalay of the Hungarian Basketball Federation. He also stands by the decision. Main secretary Péter Bodnár is on his way to Geneva to represent our team in front of the International Federeation.

Parallel the press conference we notified FIBA and also the club of Famila Schio about our decision.
