"We got into a well-balanced group, in which Ekaterinburg towers over the others. With a little exaggeration we might say that from 2nd to 8th spot anything can happen. The real question, however, remains to be answered at the club managers' afternoon meeting... " - coomented our managing director
Zoltán Török.
Our team's head coach
Dávid Gáspár has agreed with the thoughts of our managing director: "I also think that we got into a well-balanced group, from which Ekaterinburg stands out. We respect all of our opponents, and I don't think that we could talk about easy games in any case. In every game we are trying to get to the maximum hidden potential of the team, and I hope that it will show in results as well!"
After the official scheduling meeting (if the originally planned schedule will be enforced our team will host the opponents from 6 pm on Thursday) the afternoon directors' meeting took place. It was said in the meeting that FIBA also has a plan B, which would mean that the competition would begin in January. Our managing director also submitted a suggestion, stating that in case the competition starts in January there could be two games a week, if it could be talked over with the federations of other countries regarding the national championships' schedule. "I hope that the solution won't be reducing the number of games, because there is plenty of time to work out a good schedule." - emphasized
Zoltán Török. The board of FIBA, taking our managing director's suggestion into consideration, will sit on the 1st of September to make a decision about the arrangement of the competition according to the pandemic situation.
