We continue our league campaign against LUDOVIKA-FCSM Csata after the FIBA window, which will be our final home game of the regular season.
Our team is in the top spot in the league with an unbeaten record after 17 games, and since we take on two immediate rivals, Szekszárd and Győr on their home court next week, then we could secure our first place mathematically ahead of the end-of-February Hungarian Cup Finals in Budapest. At the latter, we will also face fifth seed Csata, who currently have a 10-7 record in the February 24th quarter finals.
The last time we played against Krisztián Tursics's squad was back at the season opener. We came away with a 20-point win from that game in the capital. Neither side had a complete roster back then. On our side Briann january and Kamilla Varga were absent, while Csata were missing Bernadett Horváth and Barbara Agyal from their line-up. They are all eligible to play now, however, Hayes will not be here, since she moved to DVTK in the fall. They found the replacement for the American player in January with 186 cm tall American Dejza James, who spent the past two years in Turkey, and she will have her debut this Saturday against us. They were in need of a post player in order to stay competitive for their goals, which is to reach the best four.
Our team has been preparing for what's coming with a complete roster since Tuesday after everyone came back from their respective national teams. Only Virág Pfeiffer was unable to practice with her teammates, because she suffered a knee injury in a junior game. The young player is facing further examination.
We asked our team captain Zsófia Fegyverneky ahead of the game on Saturday, and she let us know how to come back to a good rhythm after a longer break.
